Gregory J. Spanos, a classically trained accountant, management consultant, and business development executive has spent his entire professional career in the investment management industry in one capacity or another. In 2002, he formed the predecessor firm to BSA upon his leaving the buy side of the industry and has been actively engaged as a consultant ever since.

For a brief period from early 2004 to early 2005, in addition to managing BSA, Mr. Spanos also served as the Chief Operating Officer of a start-up hedge fund firm that he co-founded with a former colleague.

From late 1996 to mid 2002, Mr. Spanos was the Head of Business Development for Liberty Funds Group. While at Liberty, he was involved with the launch of several new investment products, as well as in the leveraging of many others. Mr. Spanos led the formation of an alternative investment management business which grew from nothing to nearly $4 billion in AUM. In addition to a long/short domestic equity fund, the assets were largely comprised of structured investment vehicles. He also performed due diligence on several potential acquisition, as well as joint venture, candidates. Mr. Spanos served on the management committee of Liberty which was sold to Fleet Bank Financial (now Bank of America) at the end of 2001.

Prior to joining Liberty, Mr. Spanos worked for Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) as a CPA and management consultant, last serving as a Senior Manager in the Investment Management Industry Services Group. He was in the general audit practice of Price Waterhouse from 1985 through 1990, specializing in investment management industry clients. Mr. Spanos served every major investment management industry client of the Firm's Boston office. From 1991 through late 1996, he worked in an Investment Management Industry consulting practice that he co-founded with two other senior members of the Firm. This practice focused on serving all the strategic "front office" needs of investment managers. In this role, Mr. Spanos worked with major industry firms all over the United States and in several countries around the world.

Mr. Spanos received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Boston University in 1983. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
